Came across Yamauchi Michio’s work via Tokyo Camera Style. There’s some really great work in his site here.

This isn’t exactly street photography, but maybe it is. John Sypal has been photographing other peoples’ cameras on the streets of Tokyo–usually only film cameras. It’s sort of akin to several other photographers who have photographed darkrooms or the photographer who recently shot the darkroom trays of various photographers. It’s a lot about the gear, but a little about something else–maybe it’s the aura suggested by Araki as he’s quoted in the blog’s right hand column. Sometimes a project can be simple and straightforward.
